Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Arsenal are pushing to get the deal done for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.

Romano claims that Gunners are chasing the Dutch defender and will try to sign him in the coming days. The Italian journalist also states that the player is keen on joining Arsenal this summer.

Romano posted on Twitter :-

“Arsenal will also push on Jurrien Timber deal in the next hours/days. Understand Timber considers Arsenal as excellent, attractive project for his future.”

Arsenal fans will be very excited with such news. It shows that Gunners really want the defender at the Emirates next season.

Journalist Ryan Taylor claims that Manchester United are also monitoring Timber, but Ajax are willing to sell him to North-London club.

Taylor told GIVEMESPORTS:-

“He is a really highly-rated, young centre-back with world-class potential.

“He has also been tracked by Manchester United, but there does seem to be an appetite that Ajax are willing to sell to Arsenal.

“It’s now just about finding an agreement. Obviously, at this moment in time, it doesn’t look like any other clubs are interested, which massively benefits Arsenal.

Meanwhile Timber is one of the best young defenders around the globe. He also has extensive experience of playing in Europe. The Dutch International would be a good signing for Gunners and can be long-term solution for manager Mikel Arteta.

But it will be interesting to see how much Ajax are willing to accept for Timber.
