Arsenal are now in pole position to unveil Declan Rice as their first signing at the Emirates stadium this season, as per transfer insider Dean Jones.

According to The Guardian, Arsenal are closing to agreeing on a fee with West Ham United for the signing of Rice. The transfer fee could be more than £100 million, including add-ons.

David Sullivan confirmed to talkSPORT last week that Rice will leave the Hammers this summer after leading them to UEFA Europa Conference League glory. West Ham United triumphed over Fiorentina in Prague this month.

Rice could quadruple his salary if he joins Arsenal this summer. The 24-year-old will also break the North-London club’s record transfer fee.

And now, Dean Jones claimed that the Gunners are ready to announce Declare Rice as their first signing of the summer. He told GIVEMESPORTS:-

“Arsenal’s aim is to unveil Declan Rice 9this summer as their first signing. I think that would show a clear intent for how this team wants to kick on. We don’t know if that will be possible or how the negotiating will go. But another reason to get this done quickly is the hijack threat.”

Arsenal need to sign Rice this summer to reshape their midfield for next season as expirenced Granit Xhaka will leave the club and join Bayern Leverkusen this summer.

Rice has made 245 appearances throughout his career with Hammers, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists as a holding midfielder. He led West Ham to most successful period in recent history of the club.

Therefore, it’s right time for Rice to step-up and play in the Champions League next season.
