Arsenal set to make David Raya their permanent keeper

Arsenal have shown a great progress under Mikel Arteta. The club has been constantly giving competition to Manchester City for the Premier League title. However the Gunners have failed to win the league for second consecutive year. But no one can deny that Arsenal have been hugely transformed by Arteta as they lost the league by only two points on the final matchday. Recently Fabrizio Romano has reported that Arsenal could finalize making David Raya their permanent keeper soon.

Mikel Arteta has been praised by Arsenal fans for the work he is doing with the club. The Spaniard has achieved good results and is looking very close to secure the league title for the first time after 2003. Along with tactics, Arteta’s scouting has also been of top quality. Last season he signed Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber. Timber unfortunately missed majority of season due to injury. Except the Dutch international the rest two have been crucial for the squad.

Arteta also brought David Raya on loan from Brentford. Raya shortly after arriving replaced Aaron Ramsdale as Arsenal keeper. Raya through his performances gained Arteta’s trust and earned his spot as a regular starter. The Gunners now are reported to offer Raya a permanent offer in upcoming days. Ramsdale has been reported to move away from North London club looking for more gametime.

When will Arsenal sign Raya permanently

Journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano believes Gunners will make Raya their permanent keeper very soon. Romano is correct with his reports almost everytime. He wrote in his CaughtOffside column that Arsenal will make Spanish keeper their permanent keeper in next few days. Romano claimed that Raya will be the first Gunners signing this summer.

Arsenal signed Raya last season on a loan for £3 million with an option to buy. The Gunners will need to pay Brentford £27 million to make Raya their permanent keeper. According to Romano, Arsenal have already talked with Brentford and the deal is ready to be completed in next few days. He said that Arsenal will respect the buyout clause of Spanish international and pay the full price for him.

Romano continued that Mikel Arteta is very happy with Raya and will continue to start him next season. Aaron Ramsdale is very certain to move away from Emirates with a variety of clubs interested in him. Chelsea and Newcastle are interested in Ramsdale and could go after him. Except the English clubs, AC Milan are linked to Ramsdale in an attempt to replace Mike Maignan. Arsenal will hope to find a solution that will benefit both Ramsdale and Raya.

Fabrizio Romano on other Arsenal plans

Fabrizio Romano also shared other important updates regarding Arsenal. He said that Eddie Nketiah has been monitored by Fulham. Armando Broja who was on loan from Chelsea has left Fulham. In order to replace him, Fulham could be seen going after Nketiah. However the talks are not advanced and Fulham are also monitoring other talents across the Europe. Arsenal however are certain to part ways with Eddie Nketiah.

According to Romano, Fulham are also looking to sign a midfielder and have set their eyes on Emile Smith Rowe. The Arsenal graduate had a drop in form due to less gametime since 2021-22 season. Due to the saturation Arsenal have in midfielder he may be making his way away soon.

Romano also shared a key update about Jakub Kiwior. Kiwior has once again been linked with AC Milan. Milan are constantly linked with Kiwior are are very interested in Polish fullback. Kiwior was also on Milan’s list in January. However Milan have not yet had any talks about him with Arsenal. Arsenal could been seen parting ways with him if any suitable offer arrives.
