Arsenal supporters are losing patience with Arteta over Kai Havertz, claims former Gunners player

Following the German’s underwhelming start to life in north London, Arsenal star Kai Havertz has reportedly been booed by his own fans because they “don’t want him in the side“. This is according to former Gunner, Stewart Robson. Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu bought the German international from Chelsea for £65 million. But Havertz has not yet lived up to expectations at the Emirates.

The former Arsenal player claims that Chelsea sold Kai Havertz this summer because he “wasn’t good enough“, after being defended by a Bundesliga reporter. However, Havertz scored the game-winning goal in a Champions League final. Havertz’s career hasn’t progressed in the positive direction Robson noted, as he stated to ESPN, and his victory over Manchester City in 2021 hasn’t done him any favours.

After seven Premier League matches, Havertz has yet to register his first goal for Arsenal. He has also frequently displayed erratic play in the middle of the pitch while playing off Eddie Nketiah and trying to step in for Granit Xhaka.

Havertz is receiving verbal hits left, right, and centre ever since he made an entry into the Emirates. Some people even said that he was a “flop” even before kicking a ball.

Mikel Arteta’s team are unbeaten in their first seven games in the Premier Legaue. But Havertz’s performances while wearing the Arsenal jersey haven’t exactly been up to par. In any case, Robson lashed out at Havertz and the 24-year-old’s performances as a Chelsea and Arsenal player.

Former Arsenal player not happy with Havertz’s performances

The 24-year-old’s performances, which were summed up by an air shot during the victory over United before the international break, have drawn criticism in the media. In a discussion with a journalist from the Bundesliga, Robson stated that Havertz was not up to the standards expected of Chelsea. He has not yet demonstrated his potential with Arsenal . He also said, that is why the Arsenal fans are “booing” him.

In reference to Havertz’s game-winning goal for Chelsea in the UCL final, Stewart Robson said

“He wasn’t good enough, that’s why they got rid of him.”

He continued saying

“You can’t keep defending players that go to the Premier League from the Bundesliga because you want to say that the Bundesliga is such a great league. He hasn’t been good enough for Chelsea and he hasn’t been good enough for Arsenal. You are trying to say Havertz was good enough for Chelsea, he wasn’t. That’s why they sold him.”

Robson further added

“He has gone to Arsenal and the Arsenal fans don’t want him in the side. They are booing him, at the moment. Arsenal fans don’t want him in the team. They can’t understand why Arteta is playing the system that he is playing to fit Havertz into it. He is struggling at Arsenal, at the moment.”

Hansi Flick is no longer the head coach of Germany

Havertz would have anticipated some relief when he went on international duty, but that has not been the case.

The situation has likely worsened as a result of Germany’s dismissal of Hansi Flick following their demoralizing 4-1 home loss to Japan. Following which Havertz stated that, Jurgen Klopp is Germany’sdreamappointment. However, Klopp confirmed his commitment to Liverpool and said he has no immediate plans to leave. A few days earlier, Julian Naglesmann was appointed as Germany’s new manager.

If Havertz’s performance keeps going in the same direction, he could soon find himself warming the bench for Arsenal and Germany. He needs some luck from somewhere.
