Arsenal targetting Bayern midfielder who is a huge admirer of Jurgen Klopp

Arsenal wants continue to their transfer fee as they’re currently planning to sign Bayern Munich defensive midfielder Joshua Kimmich.

According to Marca, Gunners have their sights on Kimmich and could beat other big clubs to his signature this summer. Spanish Giants Barcelona are also interested in him, but they cannot afford him at this moment.

Meanwhile Granit Xhaka joined Bayern Leverkusen and Ghaninan midfielder Thomas Partey on verge of leaving the club this summer, Arsenal are in a urgent need of a new defensive midfielder. Gunner have already signed the likes of Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and their long-term target Declan Rice.

Arsenal will want a player of Kimmich’s stature in their team next season. However, they’ll have to Bayern’s asking price of £52 million to land him this summer.

Kimmich is highly decorated player and won every possible silverware in his tenure at Bayern Munich. He joined club from VfB Stuttgart in 2015 and has gone on to make 347 apperances for the German outfit.

Mikel Arteta is huge admirer of his attributes. Kimmich not only scored 11 goals last season, but he also averaged more tackles per game (2.4) and chance per game (2.6) than any other Arsenal player.

However Kimmich praised Arsenal’s Premier League rival manager Jurgen Klopp in recent interview. He said:-

“It’s amazing how emotional he is, on the field, with the fans. You can see how he pushes his players — he can push them to another level. Every player is better with this coach.

“When you see their style of playing, they have a really good defense, and their offensive line is also amazing. They have a lot of speed, they have players who are tough in the duels. It won’t be easy to fight against them. Jürgen Klopp did great work over there.”
