Arsenal tempt to sign Real Madrid full-back Ferland Mendy

Arsenal tempt to sign full-back Ferland Mendy as Real Madrid are willing to let him go in the summer transfer window.

Gunners are preparing themselves for a busy summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta will like to keep their good form into the next season and they need reinforcement to make that happen.

Arsenal will bring several players this summer, with West Ham’s Declan Rice and Brighton’s Moises Caicedo among their potential targets. Arteta is also looking to strengthen their defensive line and Mendy is one player that under their radar.

Mendy is out for couple of months due to injury. He has only managed to play 26 times for Real Madrid this season across all competitions.

According to Spanish Outlet Nacional, Arsenal have demanded a price from Real Madrid as Arteta wants to sign the defender. Reports also suggests that Mendy has no future at Bernabeu.

Real Madrid will listen to all the proposals they recieve for Mendy as they are not satisfied with his performance. Los Blancos have subsequently agreed to let him go for a right price in the summer. The report adds:-

“Mikel Arteta can do Madrid a big favour, and be the one to sign Mendy. So far there have been no negotiations, only a slight approach by the Gunners to find out the availability of the French international, and the price requested by Florentino Perez.

“And the answer the English have received is that they will settle for 40 ‘kilos’ to open the doors to the 27-year-old defender, who may end up in the Premier League.

“If things do not get complicated, he will leave La Liga Santander after four campaigns, and will presumably land at the Emirates Stadium.”
