According to reports, Arsenal are willing to increase their offer to £68m in order to land Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic.

Alongside Arsenal, fellow Premier League giants like Manchester City,  Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are also scouting the young forward. While Italian giants Juventus are also keeping a close eye on the forward.

The 21-year-old forward has recorded 15 goals and set up a further two for his teammates this term in just 17 appearances in all competitions for Fiorentina. (stats via Transfermarkt). With a goal return like that, a number of top-European clubs are after his signature. But according to Sport Mediaset, Arsenal are willing to out-bid all the other clubs in the hope to land Vlahovic.

The London side have been given the green light by the club owners and club hierarchy to make a £68m bid. Dusan Vlahovic’s current deal at Fiorentina runs only until 2023. While the young forward has shown no interest in signing a new deal at the club.

Hence Fiorentina are ready to cash in on their young prodigy for a good fee instead of losing him on a free in 2023. But to Arsenal’s worry, according to reports Vlahovic turned down a transfer approach from Arsenal previously in favour of staying in Italy. Arsenal will be hoping to convince the forward to move to the Emirates in the future transfer window.

Are Arsenal the perfect fit for Dusan Vlahovic?

The Gunners frontline is a mixed bag. The likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pépé still have their futures up in the air. While club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has only scored four goals this term. He is currently on a five match goal drought. So Arsenal need to add new faces to their front line.

Mikel Arteta has taken a different transfer approach than the managers before him. Arteta has shown faith in academy prospects like Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka. The young duo have repaid the managers trust by performing consistently on the field week in and week out.

The Gunners this season have the lowest average age in the Premier League at just 24.2 (start via Transfermarkt). The young Arsenal forward line contains the likes of Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Martinelli. Arteta and Arsenal will be hoping to convince Dusan Vlahovic to lead the young forward line for the years to come and be the centre of the Arsenal project.
