The reports also adds that Tielemans could now sign a one-year contract extension at Leicester. This deal would keep him with the Foxes until the summer of 2024. Leicester and Tielemans have a very good relationship.

WHY ARE THE GUNNERS COOLING OFF THEIR INTEREST IN THE BELGIAN MIDFIELDER?

The number one reason is Fabio Viera. The midfielder is going to sign for Arsenal from Porto. The second reason is Arsenal are currently focusing on signing attackers. Gunners are interested in signing Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. The club is also close to renewing Eddie Nketiah’s contract for another five years.

Despite the return of William Saliba from loan, the London side still wants to sign a center-back. Gunners are linked to Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez. Although, sources claim the Tielemans deal is still not fully closed. Arsenal wants to add another midfielder. However, for Arsenal, it is not currently a priority to sign Youri Tielemans.

Tielemans has scored 24 goals and provided 24 assists in 158 games for Brendan Rodger’s side in all tournaments. He also scored the winning goal in the 2020-21 FA Cup final. The Belgian also lifted the Comunity Shield with the Foxes a couple of months later. He ended the 2021-22 season with seven goals and five assists from 49 games. Although, Leceister could only muster an eight-place finish in the Premier League.
