Arsenal to enter personal negotiations with Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal will look to raid Manchester City to solve their problem of adding a quality striker to their squad. They registered an interest in the Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus and trying their best to lure him.

However, many other clubs reportedly took notice of him and will look to launch bids for him too. One of them is Arsenal’s bitter North London rival Tottenham Hotspurs. There are also clubs in Italy and Spain who scrutinied him.

The Gunners will look to sign a couple of strikers to bolster their goalscoring options in the upcoming transfer window. In January, they let their star striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang exit the club on a free. He had some disciplinary issues and was also going through a rough patch of form. But along with that, they failed to replace him in the same window.

Arsenal and their striker problem

They decided to go with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah for the rest of the season but it backfired as the Gunners missed out on another Top 4 finish in thisrecently-concluded season. Lacazette left the club and is enroute to Lyon, his former club from where he signed for Arsenal back in 2017.

On the other hand, Nketiah signed a 5 year contract at the club after he rejected many other offers. But he won’t be the starting choice for Mikel Arteta is quite clear. The Brazilian can be a proper addition to solve their striker woes. Arsenal is reportedly offering double the wages he used to earn at Manchester City to lure him to the Emirates Stadium, according to The Sun.

Jesus have only 12 months remaining on his current contract. Plus the addition of Erling Braut Haaland and Julian Alvarez concludes reduced gametime for him. So it’s the proper time to part ways and go elsewhere for more gametime. Also, Man City will look to coup some cash from him otherwise they will risk him leaving for free next year.
