Arsenal made 3 signings for the summer until now. But it looks like the Gunners summer transfer window will now start in full swing. As reported by Sport Witness, Spanish outlet Mundo Deprtivo claims that their interest in Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio is serious.

Arsenal is looking to sign at least two marquee signings this summer as they already secured the move for Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira in a jiffy and out of the blue. The Gunners paid a transfer fee of €35m (£29.9m). Also, the 22-year-old player agreed to a 5-year deal at the Emirates Stadium outfit.

Is Arsenal boss interested in the Champions League winner?

The Real Madrid forward has been on the sight of Mikel Arteta for quite some time. Now this time, the Gunners management can finally execute their transfer target.

The Spanish international’s current contract for the Spanish giants will expire at the end of next summer. Also, the club is finding it difficult to tie him down to another contract. According to the report, the 14-time Champions League winners are looking to sell their star for around €40 million. But the same report also concludes that Arsenal can be so desperate they are willing to pay as much as €77 million to lure Asensio to the Emirates Stadium outfit.

The former Mallorca player made a total of 42 appearances for his side this campaign. In that time, he managed to score 12 goals and registered 2 assists in total. He also played a part in lifting the double for his side as Real Madrid clinched both the La Liga and UEFA Champions League this season.

Should the Gunners go for him all-out?

Arsenal are in dire need to add experienced quality to their young and talented squad. Although Asensio is the profile Arteta might look for, the club should not spend this ridiculous amount of money on him.
