Arsenal to tie down both Ramsdale and Saka to new contracts

Arsenal are set to tie down both Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka to new contracts in coming weeks, as per reports.

The English duo have been influential for the Gunners going forward. Saka is playing exceptionally this season and Ramsdale has once again proven himself between the sticks.

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are close to agreeing new contracts for both. Gunners are now discussing final details of the deal.

Both Ramsdale and Saka have been exceptional under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal. Both of them are young and full of energy for the Gunners this season.

Premier League rivals Manchester City were taking interest in Saka but he is now getting his new deal sorted with the Gunners. However, Ramsdale has also been a key player since joining from Sheffield United and cementing himself as one of the finest goalkeeper in the Premier League.

Arteta is desperate to tie them down on new contracts before the transfer windows opens in summer. Arsenal takes on Newcastle United this weekend to keep the pressure on Manchester City at the top.

Telegraph journalist Sam Dean said:-

“Arteta wants to retain a young British core, with Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale both close to agreeing new contracts.”

Arsenal will play in the Champions League next season after a gap of 6 years. They need to both of their stars to continue their good form in European Competition next term.

Gabriel Martinelli as already signed a new contract, which will valid till 2027. Arsenal are also hoping to offer William Saliba a new contract before the summer transfer window.
