With Champions League football in offer this season, Arsenal is looking to end their long trophy-less spell. They’ll like to continue their good rhythm of form and bring the glory days back to the Emirates.
Arsenal have broke their transfer record this season, as they’re close to securing a move across London for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice for £105 million. However, before that deal gets official confirmation, Arsenal have secured the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea FC.
Initially Havertz was intrested in joining Spanish Giants Real Madrid. He was under consideration as a potential replacement for French striker Karim Benzema.
But, Chelsea’s asking price was too high for Los Blancos. Arsenal then joined the race and signed the German international for £60 million.
Speaking on the Inside Arsenal podcast, journalist Nizaar Kinsella has shared what he knows about the transfer. He said :-
“He was always dreaming of Real Madrid, and I thought Madrid would come in this summer.
“During the pandemic Madrid didn’t have money, so the pandemic guided him to Chelsea.“It has taken him away from Real Madrid. They’ve been building up for a move for a long time. A move to Madrid has never materialised, but Chelsea and Arsenal have.”
Arsenal will be getting player with great potential in Havertz, who arguebly has a point to prove after his lul spell at Chelsea. Mikel Arteta will also hope to unlock his true talent at the Emirates.
