Arsenal winger Marquinhos sends direct message to Edu and Mikel Arteta. The Gunners wanted to sign a new winger in the summer transfer window.
However, they were unable to sign the winger in the transfer window. Although, it looks like the Gunners already had a solution in place.
ARSENAL AND MYKHAYLO MUDRYK TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY
According to reports, Arsenal were looking to sign Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Gunners were also in contact with his agent. However, they were late in registering interest in the winger. The Ukrainian club has set a price tag of 35 million on the winger. Hence, the Gunners decided not to explore the transfer deal this summer.
However, the winger has still hopes for a future Premier League. He said,
” I think every guy dreams about the Premier League. It’s hard to say [who his preferred move is] but Arsenal is a very good team, very good coach, I like the way they play.”.
Hence, it looks like it will be difficult for Mudryk to reject a move to the Gunners in the future transfer windows.
MIKEL ARTETA ACTUALLY MIGHT NOT NEED A NEW WINGER
Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu were clear about the need for a new winger. However, it looks like the club may have unintentionally found the answer to the problem. In summer, the Gunners signed Marquinhos for 3.5 million. However, he was rumored to be sent on loan. Although, in the end, Arteta decided to keep him as he was impressed by his quality.
The winger paid the trust put by Mikel Arteta back in the form of a goal against FC Zurich in the Europa League. He has also played very well for the U-23. The winger also assisted in the match. Hence, there are suggestions that Mikel Arteta can consider Marquinhos as a serious option for the position. However, other reports claim that Arsenal will try to sign a new winger in the January transfer window.
The reports also claim that Arsenal are tracking Wolves winger Pedro Neto as their main target. It is also understood that Mudryk was also a name the Gunners were tracking. However, the future of Marquinhos at Emirates under Mikel Arteta is going to be bright.
