Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that they need to trust the long-term development of Fabio Viera. The Portuguese midfielder signed in the summer transfer window.

However, he is yet to have a major impact on the Gunners team. Hence, Arteta has said that the fans should also take his injury problems into consideration.

ARSENAL HAVE TO KEEP TRUSTING THE ABILITY OF THE YOUNG PORTUGUESE MIDFIELDER

Arsenal signed young midfielder Fabio Viera from Porto in the summer transfer window. However, he missed the initial games of the season. This was because of an injury. However, the attacking midfielder started impressing Arteta and the Gunners fans in his initial displays. He also scored a brilliant goal for the Gunners in their win against Brentford in the Premier League.

However, things have not gone well for the attacking midfielder in recent games. He has not performed well with the opportunities in the Europa League and Carabao Cup. However, Arteta has urged the fans to remain patient over the form of the Arsenal midfielder. Mikel Arteta has also listed a number of reasons for the loss of form with the midfielder.

MIKEL ARTETA WILL EVENTUALLY GET THE BEST OUT OF THE YOUNG PLAYERS

The Spanish manager commenting on Viera’s bad form said,

“I think in front of goal he’s been unlucky because in the past two games he could have scored a few goals. “But every player needs time to adapt obviously. When he played against Brentford away from home and he’s surrounded with players he’s more familiar with it’s a bit easier.

Mikel Arteta also added,

“We’ve asked him to play lots of different positions as well because of the needs that we have in the squad,”. “But, I’m not worried at all.”

Arteta also added that the World Cup break from this month is going to benefit him. The Portuguese midfielder will also play a number of games against quality European oppositions in Dubai with the Arsenal players that are not going to the World Cup.

Arsenal will now hope that Fabio Viera returns to form against Wolves in the Premier League. This is the last game before club football goes on break for FIFA World Cup. Hence, the Gunners fans hope that he can contribute goals and assists for the title challenge in the Premier League this month.
