Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is confident that he can convince Declan Rice to join the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

According to Mirror, Arteta wants to hold talks with Rice as soon as the season ends. The Spaniard is extremely confident he can land the English midfelder despite their faltering title race.

Arsenal will look to bolster their attack in the summer transfer window as they don’t much much depth. Meanwhile, Rice continues to impress for both club and country and looks ready for next step in his career.

As per Mirror, Arteta is confident that he can convince Rice to join Arsenal in the summer. He will also urge Club’s hierarchy to make an official approach for the 24-year-old once the season ends.

Arteta personally wants to hold talks with Rice as soon as possible. But the Three Lions star will be wanted man in the summer, as other clubs will also enter the race to sign him.

Rice could potentially leave West Ham United in the summer, as he wants to play in the Champions League. He told Evening Standard:-

“One hundred per cent I want to play in the Champions League. For the last two or three years, I’ve been saying that.

“I’ve been playing consistently well for my club, and I feel like I really want to keep pushing. I see my friends here who are playing Champions League and for big trophies.

“You only get one career, and at the end, you want to look back at what you’ve won and the biggest games you’ve played in.”

But Gunners will have a challenge in their hands negotiating with West Ham, who want £100 million for Rice.
