Manager Mikel Arteta on verge of convincing Declan Rice to join Arsenal in the summer transfer window, as per reports.

The Hammers captain is now close to join Arsenal as his preferred destination. With another terrific season with West Ham United, Rice will take his time to make his final decision.

Arteta is thought to be huge admirer of Declan Rice and will love to work with him at Emirates next season. Gunners came close to winning the title this season as they fell out to Manchester City at the last moment.

According to the Mirror, Rice is ready to inform Arsenal about his desire to join them at the end of the season. Arteta is now planning to rebuild his midfield as huge shake-up will take place behind the scenes at the Emirates next season.

Midfielder Granit Xhaka might leave the club in the summer as Bayern Leverkusen are close to sign him. Rice is on top of the list but Arteta is also planning to bring some other reinforcement in the summer.

However, Rice has reportedly made up his decision on where he sees the next step of his career. He expected to communicate with Hammers after UEFA Europa Conference League Final next month.

While Arteta may have convinced the player but they’re still negotiating the final fee with West Ham. Arsenal value Rice at around £92 million, while Hammers want £120 million for their captain.

Rice will be important addition to Arsenal as they return to Champions League.
