Ashwin replaces Jimmy Anderson as the new No.1 bowler

Ravichandran Ashwin

James Anderson has been ranked as the best Test bowler for a while, but he has now lost his position to Ashwin. This happened because England lost to New Zealand in the second Test of their series, causing Anderson to drop to second place.

The match between England and New Zealand was very close, and the Black Caps won by just one run. This result was very significant because it meant that the series ended in a tie. Unfortunately for Anderson, this outcome caused him to lose his spot as the top-ranked Test bowler.

Ashwin becomes the new #1 Test bowler

On the other hand, Ashwin’s performance in the second Test helped him rise up the rankings. As a result, he has now taken over from Anderson as the No.1Test bowler. Pat Cummins, another highly regarded bowler, has dropped to third place following Ashwin’s impressive showing.
During India’s win in the second Test against Australia, Ravichandran Ashwin took six wickets. This impressive performance played a major role in his recent ascent to the top of the Test bowlers rankings. Although he had previously held the top spot in 2015 and several times after that, this recent rise is significant.

Despite being 36 years old, Ashwin is still considered one of the best bowlers in the world. His consistent performance and skill have helped him maintain his ranking among the top Test bowlers over the years. With his most recent six-wicket haul, he has once again cemented his position as one of the most dominant bowlers in the game.
After India’s batting attack struggled and only scored 109 runs in the ongoing third Test, they will rely on Ashwin and Jadeja to take wickets. Australian spinners were difficult for India to handle, and the top-order batters had a tough time scoring runs.

However, Jadeja was able to get the opener, Travis Head, out early, but Labuschagne and Khawaja then took the lead. To win the match, it is important for Ashwin and Jadeja to repeat their performances from the first two Tests of the series. It will also be interesting to see how the Rohit Sharma-led team responds to the pressure.
