Aston Villa’s Keinan Davis wanted by Nottingham Forest?

Championship club Nottingham Forest has reportedly joined the race for Villa’s forward, Keinan Davis. The 23-year-old forward has been with Villa since 2016. He spent a year in Villa’s youth team and made his senior debut in 2017 against Norwich.

Despite his obvious talent, he has been unable to cement his place in the first team. Hence, a move in the winter transfer window is certainly on the cards. There will not be much resistance from Villa to keep the English forward either.

Nottingham Forest has joined a list of clubs interested in getting the signature of Davis. They have been in impressive form since the recent appointment of Steve Cooper. The Welsh manager is looking to bolster his attacking options to increase their efficiency in front of the goal.

According to The Telegraph, Cooper is keen on the Aston Villa forward who will almost certainly be available in the January transfer window.

Davis has struggled for minutes this season. He has only appeared in one game for the Villa this season, an 11-minute cameo in Dean Smith’s last game in charge. Steven Gerrard’s appointment did not change his fortune.

Manchester City starlet Jack Grealish has lauded Davis as an “unbelievable” player and “one of the best” at hold-up play. The two shared the pitch at Aston Villa before Grealish got his big-money move to Manchester City.

Here is what Jack Grealish told Soccer AM about the young English Forward:

He’s so, so strong. he’s one of the best hold up players I’ve actually played with and that includes the likes of Benteke. H is unbelievable.

The only thing that he needs to add to his game is his end product and he knows that he needs to improve on that. But I can’t give him enough credit for how good he is just in the game, holding the ball up, his dribbling for a big fellow.

Will Davies make the switch to Nottingham Forest in the upcoming transfer window?

Davis will look to move in the upcoming transfer window. He could possibly be loaned out for the remainder of the season. And leave the club permanently next summer.

Along with Nottingham Forest, he is also being courted by Norwich City and Stoke City. Davis is said to be open to being reunited with his old boss at Carrow Road.

Steve Cooper seems to have prioritized the Villa forward as his number one choice. But if the deal falls through, they have come up with alternatives. Along with Davis, they are also keeping an eye on Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun and Norwich City’s Adam Idah.

Whether or not Davis is a Nottingham Forest player in the new year remains to be seen. But one thing is for certain, that we will see the Englishman move from Villa sooner than later.
