India’s spinner Axar Patel in the post-match press conference discussed a lot about India’s performance in the third ODI.

Patel started off with India’s challenging decision to bat first after winning the toss.

He told that India had decided to bat first after winning the toss.

He then went on to tell how scary it had become for the visitors when the hosts were just touching distance from the target.

Axar praised Sikandar Raza and said that he batted really well for Zimbabwe. The hosts were almost close to chasing down 290 but fell 13 runs short.

He also discussed the way the bowlers were executing their plans in the game.

The platform for India’s win was set up by Shubhman Gill’s maiden ODI century. He remained at the crease till the very end of the first innings and made 130 runs from 97 balls.

Ishan Kishan also slapped a fifty and the duo put up a partnership of 140 runs for the third wicket.

Earlier, KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan created a partnership of 63 runs for India.

Axar Patel talked about Shubhman’s batting skillset and said that it is a very positive thing for India to have Gill’s presence as he can play a multitude of strokes and shots all around the park.

Talking about Gill’s 9 ODIs so far, then the batter has scored 499 runs and has an average of 71.28.

Gill has also won two back-to-back Player of the Series awards against the West Indies and now Zimbabwe.

And now India rotating and changing teams on a constant basis, they have managed to win 11 out of 15 ODIs so far in the Super League.

Axar gave his insights as to what goes on in the dressing room for a player who has to constantly go in and out of the team.
