India is currently busy with Asia Cup 2022 at Dubai. India has won 2 initial matches – Pakistan and Hong Kong. The first match was nail biting thriller against Pakistan. The openers failed to provide a good start to chase. Virat Kohli played a decent knock and handled the innings well but got out immediately after skipper. But it was Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya who stole the show. With their 50 runs partnership they made the result favorable for their team. In second match , India put up a good total on score of 192. The openers gave a good start and an explosive one. Then it was MR 360 show and Virat Kohli show.
They both scored their respective 50s. Ravindra Jadeja also took wicket in that match and did run out with his super fielding effort. But unfortunately he suffered a knee injury. So he is been ruled out of Asia Cup 2022 and Axar Patel who was kept in reserves will replace him.

Ravindra Jadeja has been fighting with the injuries since a long time. He was named the captain of CSK but he was not able to participate and had to be ruled out of entire tournament. It was due to rib cage injury. He was then sustained a right knee injury during series with England.
He recovered from all injuries and then started to play again but unfortunately he again suffered an injury. BCCI statement , “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Axar Patel as the replacement for Ravindra Jadeja in the ongoing Asia Cup. Ravindra Jadeja has sustained a right knee injury and is ruled out of the tournament. He is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical team. His replacement, Axar Patel was earlier named as one of the standbys in the squad and will join the team in Dubai soon,“
He has an average of 24.05 and strike rate of 124 in t20s. He has a bowling economy of 7.02. So by examining the above data we can make out what a great asset he is for the team. Team always wants such a match winner in its playing 11. More over t20 world cup is around the corner , so BCCI wants him to be perfectly fit before it. His presence in playing 11 makes a difference.
Ravindra Jadeja & Axar Patel t20 performance
Ravindra Jadeja plays as an all rounder. He has the power to hit long sixes and play quickly. Apart from this he is great fielder. He takes some important catches , make run outs , saves boundaries and so on. He is left arm spinner who bowls his over within a blink of eye. Hence he can be used to maintain over rate and he is economical too. Jadeja can be used as a extra batsman and increase depth of batting line up.
Axar Patel has been chose as a stand by player for Asia Cup 2022. With exclusion of Ravindra Jadeja , he is been included in the squad. He is also a left arm spinner and left handed batsman. Axar will be the perfect replacement for him in this tournament. He is an all rounder too. He has a impressive domestic career for Gujrat and also play well in IPL. Axar Patel has a batting average of 18 and plays with a strike rate of 137. He has a bowling economy of 7.33. He has already played 25+ t20 international , so he does not lack any experience. The All rounder has also participated in Nidahas Trophy.
So with the players available he is the perfect replacement for Ravindra Jadeja. He can even be used a left hand right hand combination.
