Bangladesh excludes Mahmudullah from preparatory camp

Bangladesh

Today, Bangladesh started their preparatory camp at home but excluded one important member of their team.

It is none other than Mahmudullah who last played for the national side in March 2023 against England at home.

However, he was not picked for the subsequent Ireland tour which featured other veterans of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Mahmudullah scored 71 runs in the series at an average of 23.66 and had a strike rate of 66.98.

Bangladesh camp featured 21 cricketers out of the total 26 and five of them have yet to join it.

Assistant coach, Nic Pothas is overlooking the camp which is preparing for the upcoming series against Afghanistan.

Therefore, the exclusion of Mahmudullah is a big surprise for fans. However, Tamim Iqbal has already stated that the 37-year-old will be considered for the No.7 position in the ODI World Cup this year.

BCB President, Nazmul Hassan Papon is also in firm agreement with Tamim’s statement on Mahmudullah.

But, team manager, Nafees Iqbal has not considered Mahmudullah despite the fact that the latter is in the country.

Says Nafees Iqbal on Mahmudullah,

No (regarding Mahmudullah not in the preparatory camp), otherwise you would have seen him.
