BBC pundit Dion Dublin praises Liverpool forward after his efforts against Fulham

Liverpool

BBC pundit Dion Dublin hails the efforts of Liverpool man Cody Gakpo against Fulham as phenomenal. The Reds ace scored the second goal for the Reds in their comeback. He helped Liverpool win the first leg and Dion was in all praise for him. It was during the 71min of the game when Jota finds Nunez in the box who plays a fine pass in between. The Dutchman arrives and a powerful left-footed finish at the near post to put Liverpool 2-1 up in the match and in the tie.

Dion Dublin, who was covering the game on BBC’S radio live said,

Diogo Jota down the left-hand side, forcing Darwin Nunez to make a run outside him. Drops it into Nunez, who fires a low ball across the box. Cody Gakpo gets across his defender as all good strikers do, and he smashes the ball into the back of the net. Great cut-back and finish.”

Liverpool fallen behind in the first half when Andreas Pereira capitalises on a defensive error. He provides the ball to Willian who fires a low shot past Kelleher. Liverpool had to wait until the 68th minute before finding the equaliser. Darwin Nunez played Curtis Jones, who fired home from the edge of the box via a deflection from defence. Eventually, a goal from Gakpo was enough to complete the comeback and give a relief to the crowd at Anfield. It was substitutions that changed the course of the match. Nunez was brilliant and so was Jota while Gakpo was the man hitting the final nail in the coffin for opponents.
