Benfica player Enzo Fernandez have now gained interest from Chelsea

Reports suggest that Chelsea have joined the race to sign Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea manager Graham Potter is reportedly busy behind the scenes ahead of the January transfer window. The Blues are already closing in on a deal with Andrey Santos. While they are also constantly being linked with RB Leipzig‘s Josko Gvardiol. After the brilliant finish of the Qatar World Cup, Enzo Fernandez have now caught Chelsea’s eye. Chelsea have now joined the race to sign the midfielder to Premier League after his wonderful display at the World Cup.

According to a Portuguese newspaper, Chelsea have now thrown their hats in the race to sign Enzo Fernandez. Elite European clubs as Liverpool, Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all included in the list. Furthermore, an offer has already been made to Enzo Fernandez. However, the club in question is still not known. Though it could be any of the aforementioned clubs. Enzo Fernandez had appeared in every Argentina game in the World Cup. Eventually, Fernandez won the World Cup with his national team. He was a phenomenal asset for the Argentina team. He had a higher rate of tackle than any of the Argentine players. Moreover, he had also chipped in with a goal and an assist to his name.

Enzo Fernandez is now being rated quite highly by many journalists. They have also claimed that the 21-year-old would strengthen the Chelsea squad. With Jorginho and N’Golo Kante’s contracts expiring by the end of this season, the Blues are looking to sign potential midfielders. Chelsea needs to sign a new midfielder regardless of the 21-year-old. It would be interesting to see who they potentially would sign. They would still try their best to sign the World Cup champion. Although it appears that Benfica are prepared to make things a bit harder for the bidding clubs.
