Arsenal are ready to bring in Brazil boss Tite to take over the reigns after Mikel Arteta. Tite would like to step down as the Brazil national teams’ coach after the World Cup in December. TV Globo reports after Brazil’s 4-0 win against Chile that Tite has already spoken to Edu who is also the technical director of Arsenal.

Tite and Edu have previously worked together at Corinthians and Tite also appointed Edu as Brazil’s general co-ordinator from 2016 till 2019. Edu is already a bit inclined towards signing Brazilian players and may even support Tite to take over at Arsenal. However, it would come as a major surprise to the footballing world as Arteta has impressed in recent weeks with Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta has become a fan favorite at Arsenal after getting a strong run of results. He is also likely to secure Champions League football for Arsenal after five years. Arteta has been at the club for three years and has also won the FA Cup with Arsenal. The fans may not be in favor of bringing a new manager just when Arteta is starting to settle in.

Since Edu has worked with Tite before, nothing can be confirmed as he may incline toward his ex-colleague more. Tite has also won the Copa America with Brazil in 2019 and has been doing the job since 2016. However, he doesn’t have the expected success that the Brazilian squads used to have in the 2000s. He has not taken Brazil to a World Cup final and may be considering the following World Cup as his last chance.

Why Arsenal should not appoint Tite and should in fact stay with Arteta?

Mikel Arteta has been doing the job at Arsenal for the past three years. He has also won the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield which was also surprising but he achieved it. He has lasted more than his competition managers Frank Lampard at Chelsea and Ole Gunner Solskajer at Manchester United. Arteta did have a slow start but is now performing better than Spurs and United.

Mikel Arteta has taken three years to get the best out of his team and now he knows his players very well. Although he lacks some depth, he has managed to lift Arsenal up to the fourth spot after a disastrous start to the season. He can do an even better job if he gets good recruitments next season which will improve the overall quality of his squad.

If Arteta can achieve this with his current squad then he can achieve even more with a better squad. Moreover, it can also take Tite some time to get adjusted to the Arsenal squad. This will again result in the rebuild phase and spending some more money to sign players according to Tite’s preferences. The fans will also not like this move as currently, everything is going perfectly at Arsenal.

Tite can be considered as an option for the future if Arteta slips in some time. He can even work alongside Arteta in the technical area if he wants but that is highly unlikely to happen. Tite may have to sit unemployed for a few days after he leaves the Brazil job. However, there are some clubs that could approach him which is when Tite could grab the opportunity.
