According to several reports, Brendan Rodgers is on top of the wish-list of Manchester United to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ole is under massive pressure after recent poor performances and has seemingly lost the support from the Manchester United fans. But the United hierarchy is ready to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer some more games to turn things around.

But side by side they are also looking for alternatives for the Norwegian manager if results do not improve. According to reports, Brendan Rodgers will be open to taking over the United job. While the Leicester City manager has done wonders at the King Power Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers has lifted the FA Cup last year and the Community Shield this season as the Leicester City head coach.  According to recent reports, Brendan Rodgers has reached a verbal agreement with United. As he would like to move to Old Trafford next summer. But the Manchester United hierarchy is pushing to bring in the Northern Irish football manager in mid-season during the winter transfer windows if results don’t go in favour of United in the upcoming fixtures.

How Manchester United could line up under Brendan Rodgers?

With Brendan Rodgers as the head coach, United may move to a 4-3-3 formation. Moving away from the 4-2-3-1 formation preferred by Ole Gunnar. Brendan Rodgers also has a track record of massively improving the youngsters at every club he has been at. Since his big-money move from Dortmund in the summer, Jadon Sancho has failed to stamp his place in the starting lineup and has also lost his place in the England squad.

But with Rodgers arrival in Manchester, he would be certainly hoping to help Jadon Sancho recapture his form and confidence. While Sancho will be hoping to impress his new boss and be a guaranteed starter on the right-wing.

The formation change would also see Cristiano Ronaldo lead the attack like he has been doing already this season. While with Marcus Rashford would be starting in the right-wing, and also be a second striker.

The formation change would be seeing Bruno Fernandes drop a little bit deeper in midfield, just like he plays in the Portugal national team. Alongside Bruno, Paul Pogba will be hoping to play a little bit up the field and play more of a free role in midfield. Scott Mctominay will likely maintain his place in the starting lineup as the only defensive midfielder.

While the Manchester United defence has been struggling in recent times. But there is no denying the quality of the players in the back four. Following that, Rodgers would certainly be looking to work on the shape, defensive line, and aggressiveness of the back four.

David de Gea has recaptured his best form again for United and looks set as the number 1 at the club again. Dean Henderson has had no shot at the starting lineup this season with David’s upturn in form. While the Spaniard will be keeping his place in the starting lineup regardless of the managerial switch.

Donny van de Beek may end up as the biggest winner if Brendan Rodgers does take over at United. Rodgers would certainly give confidence to Donny and he may finally get some much-deserved game time.
