Bukayo Saka opens up about his friendship with Arsenal goalie Matt Turner. The two have struck up an unlikely friendship since Matt Turner joined the Gunners. Arsenal are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League. They won their recent match against Manchester United which put them 5 points clear off of Manchester City. Furthermore, the attitude of the Gunners players and the mentality of the players is being praised regularly. This winning mentality have helped them to maintain their lead above Manchester City since the beginning of the season. The camaraderie within the squad is well evidenced during the matches. Bukayo Saka and Matt Turner have struck up an unexpected friendship in the team.

Bukayo Saka talks about his friendship with Matt Turner

Matt Turner joined Arsenal last summer from the MLS side New England Revolution. Whereas Saka is an Arsenal academy graduate. Therefore the friendship between the two could be seen as a bit unexpected. Turner have only made five appearances for the Gunners but have made quite an impression on the squad. Saka was seen praising the blossoming friendship between the two of them. Saka commented,

“I was very disappointed [that I didn’t score] actually! We actually spoke about that before and he said I’m not allowed to score against him so I guess his wish came true.”

He further added,

“Matt is a top guy. I love speaking to him. He’s so funny. He teaches me some American slang words. Every time I see him, I just go ‘You straight?’ and he says it back to me [laughs].”

Bukayo Saka is hailed as one of the main man in Arsenal despite of his young age. The 21- year old has have 21 goals and 7 assists so far this season. This also includes the outstanding strike against Manchester United. Saka could have doubled his afternoon’s work but the shot bounced off of the base of the goal post.
