Caicedo informed Klopp that he wanted to Chelsea this summer

Equadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo informed Jurgen Klopp that he wanted to join Chelsea this summer, however the German tried to convince him with his charm.

Reds made an massive offer of £111 to Brighton for acquiring Caicedo last month, but the midfielder wanted to move to the Stanford Bridge.

Chelsea then made a British-record bid of £115 m to secure the signing of the 21-year-old. Klopp reached out to Caicedo after Liverpool agreed a deal with Brighton on the evening of August 10.

According to The Athletic , The German expressed his regards for Caicedo with a series of messages. Klopp made it very clear that he wanted him at Anfield badly.

However, Caicedo informed Klopp that he is not willing to Anfield this summer, as he wanted join to Chelsea due to his admiration for the club. The Equadorian had already agreed personal terms with Blues, back in May.

Mauricio Pochettino now have both Caicedo and Lavia in his squad

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is delighted with the aquisition of both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia this summer.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s clash against West Ham United last sunday, he said :-

“We all know Romeo and his quality, his profile. I think he’s a perfect player for this project. We are excited and we are so happy to add him in the squad.

“The club worked really hard on these signings. We have to congratulate the owners and the sporting directors Laurence [Stewart] and Paul [Winstanley], because the job was amazing.

“To add these types of players like Moises and Romeo, and all the previous signings, is fantastic for the club.

“We need to congratulate the job that they are doing, the owners and sporting directors, because it has been fantastic. These types of players, with the quality that they have, in this squad and this project, I think it’s an amazing thing. It’s a very exciting moment and situation for the club.”
