According to Sky Sports News, Fulham is hopeful that Fabio Carvalho will sign a new contract with the club.

With his current contract set to expire at the end of the season. The brilliant teenage playmaker has been extensively linked with a January move to Liverpool in recent days. Carvalho, 19, now has seven goals this season after scoring a brace. In Wednesday night’s 6-2 hammering of Birmingham City at Craven Cottage.

Fulham insiders told Sky Sports this evening that the England youth international is still hopeful of committing his future to the club.

They claim that communication between the youngster’s representation and the club’s leadership is still open. And that Carvalho’s strong connection with head coach Marco Silva, as well as the potential of playing in the Premier League next season. This will persuade him to stay with the Cottagers.

Why are Liverpool Keen on signing such a player from Fulham?

Liverpool has been keeping a careful eye on Fabio Carvalho. The Portuguese attacking midfielder who has been instrumental in Fulham’s scoring spree.

Carvalho, 19, scored two goals and assisted on another in the Championship leaders’ 6-2 thrashing of Birmingham City on Tuesday. And he was also on the scoresheet in their 6-2 win over Bristol City last Saturday.

Fulham is also anxious to keep hold of the youngster for a little longer. Both so they can benefit from his attacking ability and so they can return to the Premier League quickly.

They also want to sign him to a lengthier deal. In the hopes of selling him to a bigger club at a later date for a higher price.

The west Londoners are still stinging from the loss of prodigy Harvey Elliot to Liverpool in 2019. With the club receiving only £1.7 million after a tribunal.
