Cesar Azpilicueta was seen furious at his team after the loss. Chelsea’s Premier League defeat to Manchester City had at least offered some moments of hope to the fans. Though the same cannot be said for their FA Cup match. Riyad Mahrez, Julian Alvarez, and Phil Foden had goals registered to their name in the match. City showed the quality that the Blues were missing in the game. City fans taunted the Blues by singing songs about the previous Chelsea owner and manager. The Blues captain Cesar Azpilicueta was seen showing his frustrations on the pitch. Moreover, the importance of Thiago Silva was felt by the Chelsea team.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Marc Cucurella, and Denis Zakaria were also on the bench for the match. Chelsea’s manager had stated that he had to find a balance to make things work at Stamford Bridge. While being questioned about it, he said,
“They’ll help us out in the back-end of the game so it’s just a balancing act at the moment but we feel we’ve got a team that can compete and get through to the next round.”
He further added,
“The opportunity came up for them to play and they won’t let us down. I’m pretty sure of that. I’m excited to see them play.”
This was an opportunity for Lewis Hall and Bashir Humphreys, the teenage duo were even better than the rest of the team. The Chelsea captain made a clumsy foul on an opponent player.
As the referee blew the whistle, Cesar Azpilicueta was seen smashing the ball at the advertising boards. Manchester City fans were quick to show their feelings about this action by the Chelsea captain. Furthermore Chelsea’s performance this season have been subpar. They have failed to impress the fans and did not exactly have a great start to the year either. Their performance was further affected by the ongoing injury problem in the club. Chelsea are looking to improve in the second half of the season by signing new players. Although, fans are not that hopeful about the improvement after their recent performance.
