A mesmerizing performance by Chelsea saw them net past 4 against Italian side Juventus in their UCL second leg, at the Stamford Bridge with Chalobah performing extremely well and thus he deservingly gets player ratings of 10 out of 10. The hosts ruthlessly thrashed the Old Lady, an act of revenge for their previous meet in which the Italian came on top.

A high press and dominating performance have comfortably put Thomas Tuchel’s side top of their group table in the UCL. An opening goal by Trevoh Chalobah kicked off the Blues’ night. In the second half, Reece James pulled a stunning strike to extend the team’s lead.

Just three minutes later, Callum Hudson-Odoi tapped in the team’s third. While the night for Juventus was already over, a stoppage-time goal by Timo Werner felt like salt on a wound, as the game concluded 4-0.

Let’s have a look at the individual performance displayed by the players of both the teams and rate the players accordingly out of a 10 point match rating.

Chelsea player ratings against Juventus:

Edouard Mendy (GK) (7): Was not tested much. Made a few easy saves. Clean-sheet locked.

Trevoh Chalobah (RCB) (10): Man of the Match. Errorless and solid at his position. Scored the team’s opening goal.

Thiago Silva (CB) (8): Leader at the back. Made an acrobatic goal-line clearance to maintain the clean sheet.

Antonio Rudiger (LCB) (7.5): Cleared his lines well and recovered with his pace. Got a lucky assist.

Reece James (RM) (9.5): Dominated the right-wing. Defensively on point and also scored a banger in the 55th minute. Created a few chances, could have been MotM.

N’Golo Kante (CM) (6.5): Was highly active and lively in the first quarter. Unluckily subbed off in 36th minute due to injury.

Jorginho (CM) (7.5): Helped out the backline by making many interceptions and tackles

Ben Chilwell (LM) (6.5): Failed to capitalize on chances. Huge injury blow in the second half.

Hakim Ziyech (RAM) (7): Created a few chances but misplaced passes.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (LAM) (7.5): Held the ball well on the left flank. Got a well-deserved goal in the 58th minute.

Christian Pulisic (ST) (6.7): Made a few errors. Could not score from a great chance.

Substitutes:

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (RM) (7.5): Held the ball and moved it around well. Unselfish assist for Hudson-Odoi.

Cesar Azpilicueta (CB) (6): Filled in well for Chilwell and defended decently.

Timo Werner (ST) (7): Immediate impact with a late goal.

Saul Niguez (CM) (6): He offered very little after coming off the bench, not much to show for.

Mason Mount (CAM) (6): Did not have to do much in an already decided game.

Even though the game did not end well for Massimiliano Allegri’s side, the team’s previous wins are enough to take them to the next round with the Blues. In the end, it will all come down to who amongst the two tops the table.
