Chelsea agress personal terms with representatives of Mauricio Pochettino as he will become the new coach, as per reports.

The Blues are searching for a permanent manager after Graham Potter was sacked last month. Due to which Chelsea have spoken to various candidates eligible for the role. Co-owner Todd Boehly first held talks with former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique and former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann over the vacant position. While Burnley’s Vincent Kompany, Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim and Napoli’s Luciano Spalletti were all admired by Blue’s hierarchy.

However now, Pochettino has emerged as Chelsea’s No.1 option and both the parties have agreed personal terms over the last few days.

As per 90min reports, Chelsea have agreed personal terms with the Argentine. But now the finer matters of the deals are being settled out. Talks are going over the makeup of his backroom staff, as he is looking to bring four usual coaches. He is looking to bring assistants Jesus Perez and Miguel D’Agostino, goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez and his sports scientist son Sebastiano Pochettino to Stanford Bridge.

Manchester United legend feels Pochettino is the right man Chelsea

Manchester United legend Gary Neville is the right man to take charge at Chelsea. He said on Monday night football last month:-

“Based on what [Chelsea co-owner Todd] Boehly has said, Chelsea have done their spending for the next three years – apart from signing a centre-forward.

“If they appoint Zinedine Zidane, Luis Enrique or Diego Simeone, they’re going to want to have another £300m as they won’t like some of the players they’ve previously signed.

“They’ve got to appoint a manager who is going to inherit and like the squad that they’ve got. A lot of them are young – and I think that man is Mauricio Pochettino.”
