Chelsea are close to signing former RB Leipzig‘s technical director Christopher Vivell. According to reports, Christopher Vivell might become the next technical director of Chelsea. Todd Boehly is all set to make his first important signing behind the scenes after becoming the co-owners of the Blues. Vivell can become the first sporting director at Stamford bridge since 2017 after the departure of Michael Emenalo.
Chelsea to sign new technical director
According to German reporter Florian Plettenberg, Christoper Vivell is close to signing the Chelsea deal as the technical director of the club. The reporter tweeted about the deal,
“The 35 y/o is on verge to become the new Technical Director of Chelsea! Final stages, last details to be clarified. Boehly pushed for him. The tasks similar to RB Leipzig: Squad planning, handling transfers and more.”
Vivell will take up the same role that he previously had with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. He will take up the role of squad planning and handling transfers among other things, according to the reporter.
The Blues’ interest in the director
Christopher Vivell was dismissed from his position back in early October, with Chelsea’s interest in the 35- year old he could be back in the football world soon. With Chelsea targeting two players from RB Leipzig, Vivell might just become the one to convince them to sign for the Blues.
