Chelsea are eyeing to sign Alexis Vega after his World Cup performance

Reports suggest that Chelsea are interested in the Mexico international Alexis Vega after his performance at the World Cup. The new Chelsea manager Graham Potter would be looking to sign new players this transfer window. He would be looking to incorporate his style of play in the Chelsea squad. According to a Mexican news outlet, Alexis Vega have let his current club know that he would like to leave the club. Despite of Mexico being knocked out of the World Cup, Alexis Vega’s performance was a memorable one. Chelsea is also one of the clubs who have gained interest in signing the player. Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers are also looking to scoop in the player. Though Chelsea would hope to pull the financial leverage over Wolves and ace the signing. Chelsea are looking reportedly busy in the January transfer window, as they look to sign a number of players.

Chelsea are looking to replace Christian Pulisic

With few current players wishing to leave the club, Graham Potter looks to sign new players. Christian Pulisic is one of those players who wish to leave the club next summer. The USA international have garnered interest from some big clubs in Europe. Chelsea signed the player from Borussia Dortmund back in 2019 for £57.6m. Chelsea might sell the player and use that sum to sign a new player in the transfer window. Alexis Vega’s contract with his club Guadalajara ends in 2024. The player have recorded 3 goals and 4 assists in his 17 appearances for the club. The player was also included in Mexico’s World Cup squad due to his performance. Despite failing to have any direct contribution to the team, Vega have still managed to impress with his performance.

The 26-year-old have caught Chelsea’s eye and he would be an amazing signing for the club if they manage to sign him. With Pulisic likely being sold, the club would have all the financial needs to make this deal happen. Vega would be an amazing addition to any side he joins as he has a very versatile style of play. With him moving to Europe, it will soon provide him with more opportunities to shine in the game.
