Chelsea are ready to get in a battle with Arsenal for the second time this month in order to sign Brighton & Hove Albion winger Leandro Trossard.

The Blues have been pretty busy in this transfer window having completed the signings of Mykhailo Mudryk, Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, and Joao Felix.

But Graham Potter isn’t satisfied yet as he wants to sign at least two more players in this transfer window. Blues have now joined the race to sign Trossard.

The 28-years old’s contract expires next summer. So Brighton would rather cash upon him than lose him for free in June. A contract extension now seems to be unlikely and the winger has been set on for sale.

Arsenal have been linked with the Belgium International after failing to sign their prime target Mykhalo Mudryk. Mykhalo chose Chelsea over The Gunners are in for another battle with the league leaders.

According to Evening Standard, Arsenal have shown their interest in Trossard. He has emerged as an alternate target for The Gunners. But they might face another heartbreak as Chelsea are also in the race to sign the Belgian.

The newspaper suggests that Brighton are looking for a fee of around £ 25 million for Trossard. The amount seems to be reasonable for either Arsenal or Chelsea, but the Blues may flex their financial powers.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal may also face competition from Tottenham who have also set their eyes on the winger.
