Chelsea are interested in two Premier League Goalkeeper

Chelsea are interested in two Premier League Goalkeeper due to uncertainty over Eduardo Mendy’s future at Stanford Bridge, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

Reports suggest that Chelsea have already informed Mendy that they will listen to offers for him in the summer. It perhaps seems unfair, as Mendy recently returned to training after sustaining a finger injury last year.

But the Senegalese Goalkeeper is already 31, and if Chelsea are keen on keeping him or Kepa Arrizabalaga, it makes sense to keep the latter. The Spanish Goalkeeper is three years younger than Mendy.

Former Blues GK Willy Caballero said in December that Mendy is the best goalkeeper he has played with.

However, Philips claims that Chelsea have identified a few names as potential goalkeeper targets in the summer. Phillips told GiveMeSports:-

“It just depends on what that goalkeeper is going to be, whether he’s going to be a first-team player or a backup choice,

“There is a couple I know that Chelsea are interested in.

“[Brighton’s] Robert Sanchez is one of them, and [Brentford’s] David Raya is another. But I haven’t yet heard anything on [Borussia Dortmund’s] Gregor Kobel.”

But it remains unclear wheather Arrizabalaga would be happy to play as a backup GK. Kepa recently become the number one option under Graham Potter.

Chelsea are looking to completely revamp their goalkeeping department next season. New owners are looking to bring new shot-stoppers to Stamford Bridge. Due to this, the Blues will look to offload Mendy in the summer transfer window.
