Chelsea are said to be interested in signing Dembele from Barcelona. His contract with the Catalans is slated to expire at the end of the season. Barca president Joan Laporta has said that the French winger is ‘tempted’ by other offers despite Barcelona having forwarded an offer.
However, Chelsea can only make a transfer once the British government lifts the sanctions that have been imposed on the club. American Todd Boehly’s consortium is expected to confirm the takeover in the coming weeks.
If Dembele comes to Chelsea it would add to the rich milieu of attackers already in possession of Chelsea. However, signing Dembele could mean showing the door to the other three Chelsea stars.
