Chelsea

Chelsea can re-appoint Jose Mourinho to replace current manager Graham Potter at Stanford Bridge, according to journalist Dean Jones.

It has been rumored that the Chelsea hierarchy are not happy with Potter. Under his managerial stint, Chelsea won only one match in 2023 and the new Todd Boehly are looking for possible replacements. Mauricio Pochettino had reportedly turned down the offer whereas, Zinedine Zidane, the latest free agent to have been linked with the Blues, and the Board is keen on bringing him in.

However, The AS Roma manager has claimed that he has an offer from London. Simon Phillips also mentioned that the Portuguese will be keen to join the Blues, again.

Speaking to GiveMeSports, Jones said:-

So, I think a squad like this needs to be managed by someone with big experience, but also someone who’s got some ego.

“I think you have to be looking at and considering people from the very top of the trade here like Luis Enrique, Jose Mourinho.

“ I know it sounds stupid, but yes, you have to consider him.”

Moreover, Chelsea or any club bringing back one of their old managers can be a huge risk, but Mourinho coming back to Stanford Bridge can be a huge statement from Chelsea. The new owner, Todd Boehly have already made some headlines by making lots of changes in the team.

The “Special One” has already won 39 trophies throughout his career and Mourinho won eight trophies at Chelsea in two stints, which includes 3 Premier League trophies.

However, talent scout Jacek Kuling termed Mourinho as a “legend” and can come back to Stanford Bridge for the third time.
