Chelsea reportedly wants to loan out their forward Romelu Lukaku to other interested clubs. The Belgian joined the West London club just last summer from Inter Milan.
Lukaku had a disastrous debut season for the Stamford Bridge outfit. The striker managed to score only 15 goals in 44appearancess he made for the club in all competitions. Several hints suggest that he might return to his former club Inter back in Italy.
However, a transfer for a possible reunion is off the cards, at least a permanent one. This is because the Nerazzurri want their club to comply with the FFP rules and regulations.
But despite the complexities involved, all the parties will come to a settlement while negotiating which can suit all. However, according to The Telegraph, ‘Chelsea have no intention of parting ways with their club-record signing unless they receive a loan fee of £20m.’
Next possible destination for Lukaku after Chelsea
The Premier League club will also try to push Inter Milan to sign Lukaku permanently in 2023 as it won’t be possible this time around. Accordingly, Lukaku has to take a pay cut if he wants a move to the San Siro outfit to go through.
Lukaku has agreed to it as per reports to join Inter for another stint. In his first spell at Inter, he scored 64 goals in 95 matches and claimed assists for further 16 goals. He also helped his side to win the much-coveted Scudetto.
Throughout this week, there’s been speculation about Lukaku’s next destination. If Inter cannot manage to get him on loan, both FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich are possible destinations. As for Bayern, their star striker Robert Lewandowski expressed his desire to leave the club. To coup some cash from him, it’s the only possible window to sell him as his contract expires in 2023.
