Chelsea wants to offload players to sign their summer target Jules Kounde. Chelsea want to sell Kurt Zouma to open up space for the Sevilla defender.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein is reporting that West Ham are ready to meet Chelsea’s asking price. Chelsea value Kurt Zouma around £25-26m. Meanwhile, Kurt Zouma is not ready to move to West Ham. He is not willing to agree personal terms with The Hammers. Apparently, he’s apparently looking for a “significant salary increase”.
If Kurt Zouma ends up leaving Chelsea this summer Jules Kounde could move to Chelsea. Meanwhile, there is only a week left now for the transfer window to close. The clubs involved in the deal will have to move quickly now to secure their deals.
Chelsea haven’t been in contact with Sevilla for Kounde but have been in contact with his agents.
If Kurt Zouma doesn’t leave can Chelsea sign Kounde?
Chelsea have raised nearly £100m through player sales in the current transfer window. The Blues have already tried offering players to Sevilla for Kounde but are not willing to go for an exchange deal. However, they have to come close to Sevilla’s £68m release clause to sign Kounde.
It is possible that Chelsea could straight up pay for Kounde even after the signing of Lukaku. But the problem here would be game-time for both the French centre backs. The addition of another centre-back would disturb the current players’ game time.
Moreover, Chelsea are planning to loan out more players. Ike Ugbo will be joining Genk for a fee of £4m. Davide Zappacosta to Atalanta and Tiemoue Bakayoko to AC Milan are done deals as reported by Fabrizio Romano. Meanwhile, Trevoh Chalobah having impressed in the previous few games for Chelsea will be signing a new five-year contract. Meanwhile, the future of Malang Sarr and Ross Barkley is still uncertain.
