Chelsea Enter Race For Robert Lewandowski

tennis player

Chelsea are the latest club who are interested in signing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

The marksman has enjoyed a stellar few years in the recent past, smashing record after record. He won the sextuple in 2020, and broke the all-time goalscoring record in the Bundesliga for a single season. He scored 41 goals to surpass the legendary Gerd Muller. His incredible achievements won him the inaugural Striker of the Year award at the 2021 Ballon d’Or ceremony.

However, he has reportedly been unhappy in Munich for some time now, as he states.

My era at Bayern is over. I don’t see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore. Bayern’s a serious club and I believe they won’t keep me, I don’t want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don’t stop me.

Something has died in me, I want to leave Bayern for more emotions in my life.

Unsurprisingly, the Polish marksman has plenty of offers on his table. Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Barcelona all remain in the hunt for Lewandowski. Now Chelsea are in the race as well.

Chelsea do need a reliable goalscorer up top. They had hoped that Romerlu Lukaku would be the man for the job. However, the Belgian could not adjust to life at Stamford Bridge. Reports state that he is already on his way back to Inter Milan.

Timo Werner, another Bundesliga star has also not found the net consistently for the Blues. Thomas Tuchel has often employed Kai Havertz in a false-9 role in recent times. However, the German tactician is keen on a proper number 9.

Lewandowski: Potential Destinations

Robert Lewandowski may be a man in demand, but he has his sights only on one club. He is insistent on a move to Barcelona.

A contract has been agreed with the Catalans, but their financial difficulties have prevented them from completing the move.

Although it is expected that the move will happen sooner or later, Chelsea fans may want to keep an eye out on this one.
