Neymar is linked with a move away from PSG and, Chelsea and Juventus have identified him as a potential signing. The Brazilian joined PSG for a world-record fee of €222 or £198 from Barcelona in 2017. Neymar has racked up a fantastic goalscoring record for the club. He has won four Ligue 1 titles with the club. However, recent reports have emerged of him having doubts about his commitment to the club.

The 30-year-old has spent five years with the club and has a contract with PSG till 2025. However, this isn’t enough to curb rumors about the forward’s future. Along with Chelsea, Juventus are also showing interest in signing the Brazilian.

Neymar’s representatives have held discussions with Juventus about the possibility of a move to the club. Although, the cost of the deal is likely to deter the Italian side from trying to sign the forward.

A move to Chelsea and a potential reunion with Thomas Tuchel

Ekrem Konur has reported that Chelsea are also monitoring the Neymar situation as they weigh up the merits of a potential transfer offer. If Neymar completes a move to Chelsea, it could mean a reunion with his former manager, Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel was all praises about the Brazilian. However, he was also critical of the player regarding his consistency.

Neymar to Chelsea seems like a good proposal. However, there are a lot of complications attached to a transfer as big as this. The most significant issue is his wages. Neymar is the highest-paid player at Le Parc des Princes.

Neymar is taking home £3.4million-per-month (£40.8m-per-year) at PSG. In comparison, Messi and Mbappe earn £2.8million and £1.8million-per-month, respectively. This places a significant financial burden on any potential suitors for his signature. However, Chelsea are one of the few clubs that have the financial firepower for a transfer of this magnitude.
