Chelsea have a buy-back clause in Tammy Abraham contract

Chelsea have a special agreement with AS Roma for Tammy Abraham if they met the agreed price, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Before selling Abrahim in 2021, Chelsea included a buy-clause in his contract with a specific price tag. The Blues might activate the clause in the summer.

The 25-year-old enjoyed five seasons at Stanford Bridge and scored 32 goals in 82 appearances. As well as providing 12 assists. Abraham eventually left AS Roma for more game time and scored 17 goals in his first season in Italy.

With possible interest from Chelsea, Abraham might leave the club in the summer. There is drip in his form this season and due to this AS Roma might send him back.

Fabrizio Romano’s Twitter handle reported that  £80 million release clause in Abraham’s Roma contract, which is only valid for Chelsea. The Blues need a centre-forward, might opt for the Englishman. Abraham will like to make an impact in his second stint at Stanford Bridge if he returns.

There is no denying the fact that he is an excellent player and has a great pedigree. Gary Lineker once termed him “classy”. He represented England on 11 occasions, while 3 goals. But there can be a debate that whether or not he is at the level for the Blues this summer. However, Chelsea needs a player who can lead their attack in the future.

If Abraham joins the club as a backup option then that would work, but it is highly unlikely he will be happy with that, given the stage of his career he is at.
