Chelsea were pretty busy in the transfer market this summer as they look to bolster an already star-studded squad.

Chelsea started off their transfer business by signing a third-choice goalkeeper in Marcus Betinelli from Fulham. The 29-year-old joined the Blues for free on a 2-year deal.

Signing a high-profile striker was at the top of the list for the European Champions this summer. Chelsea went big in the transfer market for a sensational return to the club for Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is already enjoying his second spell in London, scoring in his first match back in a 2-0 win over Arsenal.

Lukaku’s arrival saw Tammy Abraham sold to AS Roma. Olivier Giroud made the move to Italy as well, joining AC Milan.

Long-term servant Kurt Zouma left Chelsea after seven years at the club. He joined London-rivals West Ham.

Chelsea left it late when they signed Saul Niguez on deadline day. The Spaniard joined from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan deal worth €5 million.

Chelsea Transfer Market Analysis

Billy Gilmour joined Norwich City on loan for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign. The loan spell will give the young midfielder a chance to play regularly in the Premier League. Gilmour has featured in the past for Chelsea on a few occasions and is definitely one for the future.

Conor Gallagher was another academy prospect sent out on loan. The 21-year-old  joined Crystal Palace where he is off to a flying start, scoring two goals in three games.
