According to Eurosport, Chelsea are interested in signing Fulham prospect Fabio Carvalho. Following which the Blues are keeping tabs on Fabio Carvalho’s situation at Fulham.
Fabio Carvalho is enjoying an impressive breakthrough season in the Championship for Fulham. The youngster has already scored three goals and set up a further one assist in just seven Championship appearances so far.
His impressive league form has not gone unnoticed. The England Under-18 international has drawn interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid, as well as English giants Liverpool and Southampton.
But to Fulham’s misery, Fabio Carvalho’s contract is set to expire next summer, and with all the interest in him, Fabio may already be looking for a move away from Craven Cottage. Following this, Fulham may be forced to sell their young star in the January transfer window because of the contract situation.
Marco Silva(Fulham head coach) when talking about Fabio’s contractual situation in September said:
“Fabio is the same as at the beginning of the season,”
“He is the same boy, a young player hungry to play and happy to work at Fulham every single day.
“All the speculation is for him, of course with my and our support, to deal with because he’s a professional player.
“If there is speculation around him, that means that he’s doing something (well) that provoked this speculation.
Why Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea should make a move for Fabio Carvalho ?
Fabio has made an impressive start to his professional career. At just 19 he is already a key member of Fulham’s attack. In his seven appearances, he has already got four attacking returns.
The youngster is averaging 1.9 shots per game in the Championship and on top of that 1.7 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game. He has also been good while distributing possession, with 80.7% of his attempted passes finding his teammates. (stats via whoscored)
With Carvalho’s current contract only running till the end of the season, Chelsea could snap up the young attacker for a bargain fee in the January transfer window. While the Blues might wait until next summer to sign him as a free agent.
Fabio’s vercitility is another plus point for any side that manages to snap the young attacker up. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but has filled in on both flanks when needed for Fulham this season.
The Engllish atacker has a very bright future ahead of him and has already shown glimpses of his high potential this season in the Championship. Fabio Carvalho could already be a vailble option for Thomas Tuchel’s side and add a new dimension to the Chelsea attack.
