Romelu Lukaku might be reportedly heading back to his former club Chelsea. The 28-year-old forward is one of the most loved players for his current club Inter Milan.

However, after a Scudetto winning season, coach Antonio Conte parted ways with the club as Inter is looking forward to selling most of their key players. Thus, a reunion of Lukaku with his former club is still possible.

Lukaku earlier tried for a move to Stamford Bridge in the 2017-18 season but ended up signing for Premier League rivals, Manchester United. However, it would be a costly deal as his contract would expire only three years later.

Romelu Lukaku joined Chelsea from Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht. But, he was given very little opportunity to feature for the London club as he had been sent on loan to clubs like West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

The latter club, however, made a move for the Belgian striker, and then he ultimately joined Manchester United. However, his breakthrough came after joining Conte-managed Inter Milan. He has scored 64 goals in 95 appearances so far for the Nerazzuri.

He was one of the key players in their Serie A triumph this season and was among the top goalscorers. As a result, Chelsea would go again for signing Belgium’s all-time goalscorer. Earlier in February, he expressed his gratitude for his former club. He said,

“Nothing but love. They gave me an opportunity to come to the Premier League as a kid.”

But, it won’t be an easy deal as Lukaku would be currently valued at around €100 million. However, the Blues might be ready to offload five of their key players for a potential deal. The five players as per Sunday World are Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ross Barkley, and Tammy Abraham.

The Pensioners are having a wonderful season and a Champions League triumph would be icing on the cake! They face Manchester City on 29th May.
