According to several reports, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Napoli youngster Victor Osimhen as a forward addition next summer. The Blues made a 100 million Romelu Lukaku signing this summer, and the Belgian is already in great form upfront. However, Chelsea’s interest in Osimhen might have to do with Timo Werner.

Victor Osimhen has been in great form at the start of the season with 6 goals and 1 assist in the last 6 games. But his life at Napoli didn’t start well due to his injury, as a result last season he was only able to make 30 appearances, scoring 10 goals. However, it seems the youngster had got his form back seeing his current development.

Following his good start of the season, top European clubs have lined up and are keeping tabs on him. And the list includes some big names like Real Madrid, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and many more. But recent reports suggest that Chelsea are the latest to join the Victor Osimhen race.

The youngster is currently contracted until 2025 with Napoli and the Italians are in no hurry to see off their star. However, if any clubs come with a tempting bid then there might be a change in plan. As of now, reports suggest selling Osimhen next summer can see Napoli earning up to 80 million. But if the youngster has a downfall in his performance in the mid-season then the interested club might be leaving.

Victor Osimhen is currently happy with Napoli following his current form and regular starts. But if big clubs like Real Madrid, PSG, and Chelsea come knocking at his door then he might consider leaving. But he has to adjust with the game time as he might not be getting regular playtime.

Why do Chelsea are keeping tabs on Victor Osimhen?

Chelsea, the current Champions League winners has a great team and have been showing a great performance under Thomas Tuchel. While to make their team more dominant they signed their former Belgian player this summer. The Blues bought Romelu Lukaku for a price of 100 million to find some solution for their weak attack. And the plan seems to be successful as the Lukaku is already off the mark with great performances.

But Chelsea have a worrying player in the team named Timo Werner, who joined the club last season for 50 million. Then manager Frank Lampard signed the German after seeing his performances for RB Leipzig. But little did the club know that Werner will fail to impress in England. Following the flop signing of Werner, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Victor Osimhen. As the Nigerian could possibly be better fitting to the Chelsea style than Timo Werner.
