English Premier League club Chelsea are reportedly planning to sign a deal with Jules Kounde. In order to approach him, they have to sell one of their defenders during the summer transfer window.

The French international is believed to have agreed on personal terms with the Blues. Following this, advanced talks have begun and the defender is very excited to join Stamford Bridge this summer.

However, Kounde’s contract is expiring in 2024 summer, Julen Lopetegui’s side can think of bargaining to a valuable price for the £68 million french defender.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are preparing for a formal bid for Kounde. But, first Thomas Tuchel has to decide which defender he can release in order to sign the french player. The other option with him is that he can opt for a player swap deal with the Spanish club Sevilla.

Will Kounde land upto Chelsea or not?

Chelsea reportedly have no interest in releasing Andreas Christensen to Sevilla as part of a player swap deal. But there are talks of Kurt Zouma moving to West Ham United

Kounde has already won the Europa League with Sevilla. He has also featured on one occasion for France in this year’s European Championship.

According to Montero, Sevilla are not planning to demand a release clause for the Frenchman from the Blues. But they are willing to be paid £70 million for the defender, which can be equated to roughly £59.7 million.

According to Football Daily, Montero said: “Zinedine Zidane wanted him for Real Madrid but now with Carlo Ancelotti, he’s not going to come to Real Madrid, the players know that, so Chelsea’s a good option. The problem is that Sevilla asked for 70million euros and they don’t want to pay that So they have offered Zouma in the last days and recently, Kenedy.”

It would be interesting to see how Chelsea would line up in the upcoming season.
