Chelsea loanee’s performance last night left the local media speechless

Antonio Nusa

Mason Burstow, a loanee from Chelsea, put on his greatest performance to date last night while wearing a Sunderland jersey. Mason Burstow, who is only 20 years old, is on loan at the Stadium of Light for the entire season in an effort to establish himself with the first squad.

The young English striker proved crucial for his team on Friday night. Even though he is yet to score in his first four games for his loan club. Thanks to their impressive 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland moved up to fourth place in the Championship rankings.

Burstow made a long switched pass that helped him to contribute to one goal. He also earned a penalty for his team. On a fantastic Friday night, Burstow’s solo performance received a 9/10 rating from the local media.

The centre-forward on loan from Chelsea must be itching to score himself. But it’s good to see him integrating into this Sunderland lineup so swiftly.

Chelsea loanee has so far impressed everyone in this season

The Sunderland Echo reported

“No goal but a huge step forward for the Chelsea loanee, who looked a real class act throughout. Sprung Clarke clear for the second goal with a brilliant switch of play, and won the penalty for the third was a lovely turn. A threat throughout and linked the play well, too. Probably the player of the match. 9/10.”

One can only hope that Burstow grows well this year and pushes his way into the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge next season. The Championship has been a fantastic playground for so many Chelsea young players in previous years.

According to a July report from The Evening Standard, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was considering retaining Burstow this season after watching him perform well in preseason. For the next nine months, we believe Sunderland will be the ideal temporary residence for him.

It should only be a matter of time until Burtow joins the action because this Sunderland club is attack-minded and prolific in goal scoring.
