Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has recently refused to rule out any opportunity for him to manage Tottenham Hotspurs again. Chelsea will be facing Tottenham this Monday with Pochettino returning to his former home club yet again. The Argentinian spent five years with the North London club. Owing to his masterclass, Tottenham once finished second in the league and reached a Champions League final in 2019. Moreover, his time also involved a successful move to their current stadium. Speaking about the game, Pochettino confesses his “emotional links” with the club and that he will not be “broken” by the boos of the home fans during the game.

“It’s like life, you never know what is going to happen tomorrow. We need to enjoy today and not look too much in the future. But, for sure, if I’m not working, [and] maybe if they want me one day … why not?”

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy sacked him back in April 2020. Since then, he was linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspurs stadium various times. However, nothing concrete ever landed. However, it is worth noticing that Pochettino also expresses his desire to stay at Stamford Bridge for a long time. He said,

“Hopefully I can stay here until I die!”

Speaking about the rivalry between the two London clubs, Mauricio said,

“We cannot underestimate the Chelsea and Tottenham fans.

The Chelsea fans know we were at Tottenham, and the situation in the Champions League and the Battle of the Bridge … are we going to hide this emotion? No, it’s impossible. And I cannot say I forget all the things [at Tottenham], that would be stupid. I’m going to be natural and show every game that I want to win. And at the same time I want to enjoy being at a place I was part of the process of creating something special there. I am really calm and I want to enjoy and hope for a good night for us.”

Chelsea are seeking a way to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after their loss to Brentford at home. However, it will not be anywhere easy for them to beat a high-flying Ange’s Spurs who sit at top of the table unbeaten yet.
