THE FUTURE OF CONOR CALLAGHER AT CHELSEA
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel will have the final say on the future of Conor Callagher. The midfielder had a brilliant last season with Crystal Palace. These gave rise to rumors that the midfielder would be loaned out for one more season. However, it looks like Tuchel has decided to keep Gallagher at the club.
Another report also claimed Crystal launched a sensational late bid of £27m for the midfielder. However, the offer was rejected. Fabrizio Romano also said,
“it’s normal for Chelsea to have this kind of situation. From what I’m told, it’s Thomas Tuchel who has to decide. And, as of now, there’s no green light from Thomas Tuchel for Gallagher.”
IT WAS A GREAT END TO THE TRANSFER WINDOW FOR THE BLUES
Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel had a brilliant end to the transfer window. The club managed to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona. They also managed to complete the loan signing of Denis Zakaria from Juventus. The loan deal will have an option to make the deal permanent. A potential five-year deal has also been already agreed on personal terms for a permanent move.
There are also suggestions that Conor Gallagher will have an important role to play this season. Chelsea have suffered a number of injuries in the midfield team. On the injuries in midfield, Thomas Tuchel said,
“There’s no one left in midfield,” Tuchel told BT Sport after the game following Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s injury. “The recommendation for Mateo Kovacic was 20 minutes but he played 45.
Hence, at the moment it looks like Conor Gallagher will stay at Chelsea for at least this season. The midfielder was also linked with a loan move to Newcastle United. Another report also confirmed that the Magpies tried till the end to get some sort of agreement for the England midfielder. But, they could not.
